Something Blue

In all my years of photographing weddings I've never had a groom call me the morning of the wedding. Until yesterday when my groom and grade school pal, John Summers, calls to say he needs a favor. "Well of course" I say. So John goes on to tell me that he is on his way to the reception site and the site where his bride to be, Machelle, is getting dressed (The Inn at Harvest Farm Lake)for their big day. In hand he has a dozen red roses. Oh how sweet I think, but that's not all. He has the vase tied with a blue ribbon and tied to that is a box. That's right girls! A jewelry box. Inside that box is a sapphire ring to complete Mac's something blue for the day. Oh how sweet! So he wants it all captured on film. Or at least all on digital chip. No problem I say. Below is Mac's reaction and how she kept from ruining her makeup I'll never know. Congrats to you both.

Shelly, I love it! I would add in addition to what you said that the something blue was also a first anniversary gift...not only was June 23, 2012 our wedding day, it was also the anniversary of the day that I met Machelle... I wanted to do something to remember that special event even as we celebrated our wedding day... without June 23, 2011 happening, there would have been no June 23, 2012. Thank you so much for capturing this!

John

We will have to remind each other each year. Today(June 24th) is the day 5 years ago that David and I met. So we will have to stay in touch and make sure we both celebrate as if it is the first date!

Shelly, that definitely works! We might even have to make it a double date!
